Making the School Pool Cool
This term our topic is using technology and measurement to redesign the school pool area.
Kids met Whaea Bridget on Tuesday to hear about what the pool committee want.
We are going to make a design for where the changing sheds, pump house and picnic area will go. We need to think about costs, safety and security. There is also a competition for designing a banner for the pool.
The designs will be shown to parents later this term who will get to vote for the top 3 designs. We will then get those designs 3D printed to be presented to the Board of Trustees!
How pumped are you for this topic!!

What is collaborative learning?
Collaborative learning is when you go to other classes to learn. I find it easier to learn and also more fun. We also might have to go to that class. We do reading and maths that way.

Term 2 has begun!

We are beginning an inquiry about the ANZACs this week. First we will start wondering about the topic.
In Raupo team we are collaborating for our inquiry, maths and reading programmes. This looks like organised chaos at some points! It means we are using three teachers more effectively and the children get to connect and learn from Matua Jared, Whaea Natalie and I. We are creating a learning programme that is more targeted for the children and their learning goals.
Constable Ross visited Room 5 today to continue teaching us about bullying.
